Teaching Method

A judicious mix of traditional and activity based teaching is used. Care is taken to ensure that every new concept is carried out in an activity and reinforced through other methods.

Activities in Maths and Science Labs, Language and Computer Labs are built into the regular School programme right from Class III.

Nature-walks, computer supplemented education, demonstrations, story-telling, puzzles, crosswords, games, audio-visual aids and songs are included to make learning exciting for children.

In the annual Project Day, one topic is dealt with in-depth. Children prepare their own models, enact role-plays and dramas and display their projects to their parents and visitors.

Children of Classes IV and V do group projects in small teams. They report their projects to their classmates using different media, such as drama, charts, computer, OHP, quiz etc.

Children's artwork is exhibited in the School, for all to enjoy.  Art and Craft workshops are an annual feature. Children's talents are developed through competitions every week. They also participate in various inter-School competitions, at the local, State and National levels.

Reinforcement in learning takes place through regular paced worksheets and weekend assignments.

Reading is encouraged through a Class library system which we developed a few years ago. Every child is encouraged to read one book a week. This has dramatically improved the childern's reading habit.

Assessment

From Class I to III, evaluation is only by continuous comprehensive assessment. Children of Class IV and V are assessed by their homework, activities, worksheets and monthly tests.
