Education is the great engine of personal development. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, that a son of a mineworker can become the head of the mine, that a child of farm workers can become the president.

Preparing our children for 21st century requires a new kind of teaching and learning. The world is changing and our children need multi-dimensional and broad-based quality education to navigate this world successfully. A strong curriculum combined with skills taught in School is a powerful combination to prepare them for this world. Children are born with a powerful desire to learn. Everything we do as parents and teachers must ensure that this powerful desire is kept alive. The School should develop children who love learning so much and learn so well, that they will be able to learn whatever needs to be learned. What a child can do today with assistance, she will be able to do by herself tomorrow.
The main function of the School is to offer opportunities and an environment in which a child can explore freely, and utilize his natural energies to acquire new skills and develop newer interests.
Developing skills in problem solving, creativity and innovation have become very critical in today’s world and society. Teachers have to equip children with communication skills, the ability to work in a team and with people of different cultures. Teachers have to help the children learn the core knowledge and skills.
To impart such diverse skills require highly motivated and trained teachers who are multitalented, creative and have a passion for teaching. Our education system is focused on content and pays little attention to developing the teachers. Yet it is only a gifted teacher who can influence a generation with the excitement of learning.
This makes it very important that Schools should take all steps to develop teachers to a high level of competence. To work towards improving our capability to educate our children, at Vedavalli we ensure that our teachers are well trained to keep pace with the changing society. Our teachers are exposed to innovative teaching methods and are engaged in frequent, continuous learning in current teaching practices.
This has created a team of talented and skilled staff who have developed a strong systems and a way to get things done thereby making Vedavalli into a great teaching and learning environment.
As a School we are trying to reach out to every child and try our best to make him a complete and successful individual.
I am proud that Vedavalli is fully aligned with Carol Hillman’s idea of a positive learning climate in a School.
“It is an attitude that respects children, is a place where children receive guidance and encouragement from the responsible adults around them, an environment where children can experiment and try out new ideas without fear of failure, it’s an atmosphere that builds children’s self confidence so they dare to take risks. It is an environment that nurtures a love for learning.”
